Growing Knowledge—Primary School
Growing Knowledge reflects a critical stage where children begin to build structure around their learning. They move from exploration into understanding. They start to connect ideas, develop skills and form habits that influence how they approach learning for years to come.
This pathway focuses on strengthening literacy, numeracy, communication and problem-solving skills while continuing to support emotional development and social awareness. Children learn how to work with others, follow processes, ask questions and begin taking responsibility for their learning.
At this stage, confidence becomes a key driver. When children believe they can learn, they engage more deeply. When they experience repeated frustration or confusion, they begin to disengage. This is why structured support, clear guidance and positive learning environments are essential.
Growing Knowledge supports the development of capable learners who can think, communicate and adapt. It ensures that children do not just move through school, but actually understand, apply and retain what they learn.
